Hi Vitaliy , Your article is a pleasure to read. I spent 6 months in China in 2007, living at Shanghai University . My most enjoyable moments were walking outside of the commercial and business areas and seeing how the people lived. And yes, the poverty and conditions were much different than the surrounding area of the University. But, extremely curious and friendly and appreciated that I took the time to walk among them. Thanks for the window into India..

I am coming to believe you are the real deal, Vitaliy! This was an inspiring piece, so Thank YOU!! BTW, I depend on my wife to make the tech buys, and she always gets Apple stuff. Next time, I am going to look at $100 Android phones !!! Who knew?

Hi Vitaliy - I appreciate you writhing about India. My wife and I live in Mexico and I see many similarities. Minimum wage here is 207 pesos/day, about $11.80 USD. We walk around in the evening and see that many homes are barren of decorations and furniture. Dad is scrubbing off the day's sweat & grime in a tub just outside the family room (visible through the front door) while the rest of the family watches an old TV perched atop milk crates & 5-gallon paint buckets. Yet the people are happy, they laugh and carry on while performing the most arduous labor (that would likely kill me!). We have found that the locals will graciously accept any gift we give them - shoes, old clothes, dish drying racks, rusted bicycles, you name it. On the "shore road" are million-dollar mansions, while five blocks away are tiny homes with corrugated tin roofs and walls. Another world of contrasts right outside my front door. Thanks for all of your articles!
