It is almost spring and time to plan for my annual pilgrimage to Omaha! I am very sad because, for the first time, Warren Buffett will not be joined onstage by Charlie Munger, who passed away in November, a few weeks before his 100th birthday. In his annual letter, Buffett appropriately called Charlie “the architect of Berkshire Hathaway.” Berkshire would not be what it is today without Munger. I wrote about this years ago in the essay “
I really should try to get to be there for an annual meeting before we no longer have Warren Buffett, the billionaire from a Norman Rockwell painting around. I guess I should try to get my act together. It's an easy thing to procrastinate about. But I'm thinking I'll need to buy at least one share — which is a bit tricky — I don’t have US$607,000 lying around.
